Admission is new socks and / or underwear, with the tag still attached, which will be distributed to the homeless. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies announced 2009 presidential inaugural theme as "A New Birth of American Freedom," to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth (the title is a line from the Gettysburg Address).
